About me
My name’s Ilja Nieuwland, I work and live in Den Haag (The Hague), Netherlands, just a step away from the dunes and the North Sea; a step made with great frequency in spring and summer. I have been struggling with my PhD. thesis for over ten years now, but this year it’ll be done (yeah, right). Really! (OK). You’ll be able to see work progress through my Ph.D. project page.
Recently, my main research interest has been in the way that palaeontology has pervaded our world, through popular articles, books, children’s literature, hand books, and museum displays. This is part of a wider interest in the way in which popular literature uses information (particularly illustration) from scientific sources.
